Data & Account Deletion

This page explains how to view, export, or permanently delete the data Sowaka holds about you, in line with Google Play's data-deletion requirements.

What data Sowaka holds about you

Sowaka does not collect location, contacts, photos, a device identifier, or any data from Health Connect, Google Fit, or Apple Health.

Delete your account & data

You can request deletion in either of two ways:

1. In the app

Open the app → tap your profile → "Delete account & data" → confirm.

2. By email

Send a request from your account's email address to care@getsowaka.com with the subject "Delete my account."

What gets deleted

Your account and all associated personal data — including your profile, step history, strydes, streaks, badges, team standing, and leaderboard entries — are permanently deleted within 30 days of your request.

What may be retained

We retain no personal data after deletion, except limited records we are required by law to keep. Any such records are stored only for as long as legally required and are not used for any other purpose. Aggregate, fully de-identified statistics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained.

Access or export your data

To request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or to correct it, email care@getsowaka.com from your account's email address. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
